Demographic Data Mining Using Social Explorer

Social Explorer is an online demographic research tool designed to make it quick and easy for users to look up social data and perform research.

In this quick session, we will show you how to create maps to visualize change over time (1790 to present), create demographic reports, view change reports, download data for off-line processing, and download PowerPoint presentations of your maps with a click of a button.

We will also show you how to look up everything from religion data to income inequality down to neighborhood level.

Our tools have been used by most novice to the most advanced demographic researchers. We show you how in this 15 min presentation.

Ahmed Lacevic

Ahmed Lacevic is a lead software engineer for Social Explorer.

He co-founded Social Explorer with Prof. Andrew A. Beveridge to make demographic research more enjoyable. Social Explorer is a result of 10 years of research and development.

Ahmed was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia in 1980, and immigrated to the United States at the outset of the Bosnian civil war in 1992. He lives in New York City.
