Better mass transit and access to transit information is one of the best ways to reduce pollution and improve our environment. To quote the Headway blog:

“While the most obvious way to improve transit is to provide more of it, that’s an undertaking that usually requires heaps of money and a great deal of political process. However, there are plenty of improvements that a handful of passionate individuals can achieve on a shoestring budget.”

There are some great web and mobile apps out there that provide better information, people are crowd sourcing data and working with goverment agencies to release data. Lets discuss what is going on in different parts of the world, what has been successful and what direction to take.
