Andrew Weinreich is the CEO of Xtify, a location-based services platform offered to website developers. Xtify is able to abstract location without the involvement of wireless carriers. Andrew is also the CEO of the mobile dating company, MeetMoi. MeetMoi incorporates proximity into a complete dating experience offered from the handset.
Andrew previously founded I Stand For, Inc. which he sold in February 2006. I Stand For offered a complete technology solution to political campaigns including the construction of online communities and a full content management system.
In July 2001, Andrew founded Joltage, an infrastructure services business devoted to building out a global network of WiFi hotspots. Joltage HotSpots were revenue-generating locations where individuals could access the Internet at broadband speeds using their own laptop computers, handhelds or PDA’s (Personal Digital Assistants). The Joltage software and services suite enabled location owners to instantly transform their venues into areas of high-speed wireless Internet coverage that seamlessly link into the worldwide Joltage network.
In 1996, Andrew launched sixdegrees.com, which over a period of five years grew to become one of the largest community sites on the World Wide Web. Sixdegrees allowed individuals to upload their contact managers into the sixdegrees database and classify each contact as a relationship. Through the development of proprietary algorithms, members of sixdegrees could query the database as to how they were connected to any of sixdegrees 3.5 million members. The database also allowed such complex queries as: “show me all the environmental lawyers I’m connected to within 3 degrees.” On January 18, 2000, Andrew Weinreich sold sixdegrees in an all stock transaction for $125 Million dollars to Youthstream Media Networks. Andrew previously practiced law as General Counsel for the Hertz Technology Group which he helped to take public in 1995. Before attending law school, he was a financial analyst at Merrill Lynch & Co. Andrew graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990 and earned a Juris Doctorate from Fordham University School of Law in 1994.
Andrew has run several marathons and triathlons, including the St. Croix half-ironman. His passions include adventure travel and playing guitar.
