Location-aware social is the year’s trend. Their abundance of behavioral data though are rarely used to LBS’s own or advertiser’s profit. Out of US$13B LBS market predicted by 2013 at least US$2B will need to be free app monetization.
Early ideas of shooting advertisement into unaware driver-by don’t work. Location-aware mobile applications have became the main vehicle for the smartphone usage. I hope that we will discuss various topics on monetizing location-based services, including location-based advertisement, virtual goods, location-aware marketing, etc.
