Until recently there was a delta between the Web experience and content available to users based how they accessed the Web, from their desktop or a mobile device. However, as the Web becomes increasing social and enables people to easily share and connect with friends and family, individuals want to keep these connections going even when they are away from their PC or laptop. In combination with the explosion of innovative mobile devices and operating systems, the social graph provides a platform that meets this need and delivers new ways for individuals to stay connected to their network.
This session will cover Facebook’s approach to the mobile market including:
Dave Fetterman is an engineering manager at Facebook, where he leads the mobile engineering team. Dave was central to the launch of the Facebook Platform project and has been an influential voice in the developer community. Prior to joining Facebook in 2006, he worked as a software engineer on projects in Microsoft’s developer division, including the .NET Common Language Runtime (CLR). He holds a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics and a master’s degree in computer science from Harvard University.
