Nick Mikhailovsky

Nick Mikhailovsky
CEO, POIdo

Website | @nickm197 | Attendee Directory Profile

Nick Mikhailovsky is a specimen of arguably non-existent type of Russian serial tech entrepreneur.

Nick is CEO and co-founder of POIdo, the location-based advertising platform. POIdo currently is the top Russian location-based advertising platform, and plans to launch in US later in 2010.

POIdo is the world’s first LBA platform that creates a competitive marketplace where the price of advertising is determined by the market (advertisers compete for ad visibility).

POIdo is the world’s first LBA platform where virtual billboards can be placed at optimal locations, not just the business location.

Nick’s previous location-based startup was QuickHydra, which existed in 2005-2007. He have also co-founded NTR Lab, a software consultancy, AdvancedParking, Russia’s top 3 domain parking, and Sinergo, a systems integrator in Siberia.

Nick’s technical background is in the areas of information system architecture, Information Retrieval and Artificial Intelligence. Nick holds a MS in Math.

Sessions

On March 1st 2010, Google was granted a broad patent for Location-Based Advertising. Does it mean Google now has it all? Of course, no! In this talk Nick Mikhailovsky will talk about POIdo, a location-based advertising platform that launches publicly in Russia on Mar 16th (they're planning a US launch later this year).
