Nutiteq provides the only mobile mapping SDK covering wide area of devices with single API: Java ME, BlackBerry and Android today, with iOs in the roadmap. Today Nutiteq announces the new generation : Nutiteq 3D mobile mapping SDK which enables to upgrade your mobile location-based applications to 3D with minimal haggle.
Key issues with 3D in mapping are limited availability of content and well-known general issues of mobiles: limited processing power and small screen. Also use cases are different, therefore Nutiteq provides different solution with different 3D options specifically optimized for mobile:
Simplified 3D and 2.5D modes enables to start 3D with free OpenStreetMap database, which makes usage of the SDK significantly more affordable compared to other solutions which relay on commercial 3D city models.
Like already previous version, the Nutiteq SDK supports offline mapping in addition to online mapping, for both map images and added data (placenames, POIs etc). Now also walking-optimized routing is added to it.
And last but not least: Nutiteq mobile mapping SDK 2.0 supports also real 3D mobile displays and you can really get true 3D world experience with these new devices.
