Small and large businesses alike have dabbled in what promised to be the next big thing to grow their market share. Success stories through location aware services such as Groupon and GPS-based apps like Foursquare are far and few between, and even then the customers secured most likely were just looking for a deal – there is a slim chance they’ll become the repeat, loyal patrons coveted by merchants.
To reap the benefits of the next wave in augmented reality, companies need a strategic mix of established marketing opportunities and up-and-coming location-based technologies. This session will discuss recent advancements in location technology and how business can improve customers’ experience, enhancing a physical location by adding a valuable, personalized virtual layer.
