For the past 7 years, Google Earth and Google Maps have set a new standard for consumer mapping APIs. As the field of web mapping continues to evolve, new competition is driving innovation toward accurate base data, extensible API platforms, and blazing fast response times.
Google Earth Builder allows users to make their own geospatial data seamlessly coexist with Google’s rich repository of imagery, terrain, and vector data. This session will demonstrate how developers can integrate their Google Earth Builder layers, with the Google Maps API and the Google Earth Plug-in, while also providing interoperability through OGC standards.

Sean Maday is a geospatial engineer at Google. He served as an Air Force intelligence officer from 2005 to 2010, and formerly worked for a research and development lab at the U.S. Air Force Academy where he was responsible for integrating aircraft mission planning tools and Google Earth. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Michigan State University.
