Leveraging Google’s Consumer Mapping Platform in the Enterprise

Sean Maday (Google Inc.)
Workshop Yerba Buena Salon 12-14
Please note: to attend, your registration must include Workshops.

For the past 7 years, Google Earth and Google Maps have set a new standard for consumer mapping APIs. As the field of web mapping continues to evolve, new competition is driving innovation toward accurate base data, extensible API platforms, and blazing fast response times.

Google Earth Builder allows users to make their own geospatial data seamlessly coexist with Google’s rich repository of imagery, terrain, and vector data. This session will demonstrate how developers can integrate their Google Earth Builder layers, with the Google Maps API and the Google Earth Plug-in, while also providing interoperability through OGC standards.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to leverage the Google Earth Builder platform for dynamic web mashups. We’ll cover such topics as:

  • OAUTH 2 authentication
  • Granting permission to a specific application scope
  • Accessing public and limited GEB layers
  • Augmenting Google imagery with custom scenes

This workshop is sponsored by Google
