Before founding Alohar Mobile Inc., Sam Liang started and architected Google Location Server and led its development for three and half years. Sam also designed the location API that allows multiple platforms (such as Android, iPhone, Blackberry, etc.) to access the Google Location Server. These services are powering thousands of location-based mobile applications today, from both Google and third-party app developers. Sam also designed the early Google Latitude project.
Sam holds a number of patents in wireless and mobile technologies. Sam has a Ph.D in EE from Stanford University, specializing in network protocols and distributed systems.
